Personal Bio:
Every photo tells a story. No matter how banal or exotic, the photos we see inform and shape our thoughts and it is a great priviledge and responsibility to be behind the lens, creating stories. From behind the camera, I experience daily events with intense appreciation for details, shadows, highlights, colors, fleeting expressions, feelings and moods- all becomes more palatable; the quotidian is entrancing.
I have always been drawn towards photographing people. For me, people create the geographic space, people inhabit and personalities fill; the people make a place what it is. People and perceptions make a moment deliberate or delinquent. We, as human beings, cast moods, create forceful storms or bucolic pastures around us. Human nature, what it is to be a living breathing human being, right here, right now is what my work captures.
With warmth and precision I capture moments and values that we celebrate when we come together in the many forms of community. I unobtrusively photograph the key moments of an event, whether it be a launch party, concert, reunion, or business meeting. Together my clients and I create memories, document progress, change and celebration.
I love using my camera as the bridge, which translates personalities, whole entities from ephemeral moments to eternal images. For me, a photograph involves and invites, but is mysterious enough to leave its viewer wanting more, just a little more. And here is where imagination takes the reigns; a viewer imagines what could be, the past, the future of a moment in time.
